This easy, impressive, and decadent dessert will wow your guests!


For the cupcakes –

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk, room temperature
  • ½ cup Chocolate with Chocolate Chips Dessert Dip
  • ¾ cup hot water

For the frosting –


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a 12-cupcake tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the butter, egg, egg yolk, and Chocolate with Chocolate Chips Dessert Dip.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk to combine. Then add the hot water and whisk again until you have a smooth batter.
  5. Fill the cupcake liners halfway. Bake for 18 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  6. Make the frosting. Add the butter and Chocolate with Chocolate Chips Dessert Dip to a large bowl and use a hand mixer to mix until combined. Add the powdered sugar ½ cup at a time, mixing after each addition, until all is incorporated into a smooth frosting.
  7. Once the cupcakes are completely cool, pipe the frosting on top.
