Sustainability at La Terra Fina
Did you know that La Terra Fina translates to “The Good Earth?” Sustainability is in our DNA, and we seek ways to reduce the impact our production and packaging has on the environment. Our dips and quiche are known for their delicious, wholesome ingredients, and we’re doing our part to take care of the environment that provides us with flavor and abundance. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to reduce our footprint. Since 1983, La Terra Fina has produced high-quality food with the highest safety and quality standards. All without any artificial colors or flavors – just like you would make at home.
Making a Difference with Packaging Upgrades

We are also committed to responsible sourcing, ensuring the packaging materials we use are as high-quality as the products we make.
- We source all paper and cardboard labels and sleeves from FSC and SFI certified sustainable providers. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and Sustainability Forestry Initiative (SFI) certifications ensure that products come from well managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits.
- All our packaging is printed using sustainable inks – again from FSC and SFI certified sustainable providers. Sustainable inks do not contain oil-based pigments and the organic compounds present in these inks are recyclable and break down faster than conventional petroleum-based inks.
At La Terra Fina, we believe in doing better. We’re continuously working to reduce our environmental footprint, and we’re excited to share some big changes we’ve made to our packaging. We’ve significantly reduced our plastic packaging while maintaining the same delicious, high-quality products you love.
- We’ve redesigned our quiche packaging to use up to 80% less plastic. The new design eliminates the plastic dome and tray, reducing plastic waste. Both the quiche cardboard sleeve and aluminum tray are widely recyclable. Be sure to remove the plastic seal before recycling.
- Our dip cups and lids contain 25% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material. These are made of highly recyclable rPET (#1). For best results, simply rinse the cup and lid and remove the plastic seal before recycling.

Rigorous Food Quality and Production Guidelines
- All our quiches are made from egg whites that come from cage-free eggs. These eggs are laid by chickens that have never been confined to cages. Cage-free represents an increased quality of life for these hens.
- We are certified as a USDA FSIS Official Establishment (United States Department of Agriculture – Food Safety and Inspection Service) which means our products adhere to the strictest regulations, ensuring highest production safety and food quality.
- Our production facility is SQF (Safe Quality Food Institute) Level 3 Certified 10 years in a row. This certification provides assurance that our products are continually monitored within a leading global food safety and quality certification system.
Giving Back with the Alameda County Community Food Bank
La Terra Fina supports community resilience through long-standing partnerships with organizations such as the Alameda County Community Food Bank. For over 13 years, we have donated an average of 34,000 pounds of dips and quiches each year—transforming surplus food into nutritious meals and helping expand food access across our community.
